Clear Aligners

An invisible and simple alternative to braces

Clear aligners are a modern and discreet way to straighten your teeth using a series of clear, custom-made, removable trays. Each aligner gently shifts your teeth into a slightly improved position, and over time, your smile reaches its ideal alignment.

One of the biggest advantages of clear aligners is how discreet they are—most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them. They’re designed to fit comfortably around your teeth and are often more comfortable than traditional braces. Since they are removable, you can enjoy all your favourite foods and maintain your normal brushing and flossing routine with ease.

At Dental at Keys, many of our patients prefer clear aligners over traditional braces as their orthodontic treatment of choice because of the convenience, comfort, and excellent results they provide. We only use trusted aligner systems that deliver predictable and effective outcomes.

What needs to be done before putting on clear aligners?

Before starting treatment, it’s important to ensure your teeth and gums are healthy. This means completing a full dental check-up and addressing any treatment needs first. Having a history of good oral hygiene and healthy gums is also essential for the best outcome.

We will then take detailed records to plan your treatment accurately. These records may include photographs, X-rays, and 3D scans of your teeth.

Wearing your new Clear Aligners

Our dentist will provide you with several aligners at a time, depending on your individual treatment plan. To achieve the best results, aligners must be worn for at least 22 hours a day. They should only be removed when eating, drinking anything other than water, or while brushing and flossing. If aligners are not worn consistently, tooth movement can begin to reverse within just a few hours.

Good oral hygiene is especially important during clear aligner treatment, as food particles and plaque can become trapped between your teeth and the trays more easily. Always clean your teeth before putting your aligners back in.

It’s normal to experience some temporary changes while adjusting to aligners. For example:

  • Your speech may sound slightly different at first, but most people adapt within a few days. Practicing speaking out loud or in front of a mirror can help.

  • You may notice extra salivation or mild dryness of the mouth, which usually improves over time.

  • Your bite may feel different as your teeth gradually move into their new positions.

Although clear aligners are very discreet, some people may notice them and ask what you are wearing—but in most cases, they are barely noticeable.

Each aligner tray is typically worn for 1–2 weeks, depending on your dentist’s instructions. Your dentist will create a custom wear schedule to ensure your teeth move safely and effectively.

Our experienced team can talk you through the different types of Clear Aligners and we can help guide you to choose one that suits you!
